Richard Childress Racing driver Austin Dillon joined longtime partner Dow to honor veterans of the United States Armed Forces with a special paint scheme at Michigan International Speedway.
When Dillon took the green flag on June 9, 2019 he was riding with the names of hundreds of Dow and Richard Childress Racing employees who are veterans or have veterans in their families. These names took pride of place on the hood of Dillon’s No. 3 Dow Salutes Veterans Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, which is a patriotic scheme inspired by a paint scheme raced by Dale Earnhardt in 1996.
While the veterans’ names won’t be legible on the actual die-cast, a special insert will be included with each car that lists the names of each veteran as shown on the hood.
